In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old man from Chakan, Pune, committed suicide by jumping into a 370-foot deep valley in Rajmachi, Lonavala, after his girlfriend and her yoga teacher threatened to file a false rape case against him.

According to the police, the deceased, Suryakant Ramdalyal Prajapati, was in a relationship with a woman who was also in a relationship with another man. When Suryakant confronted her about it, she and her yoga teacher, Bapu Sonawane, threatened to file a false rape case against him.

The police have filed a case against the girlfriend and the yoga teacher under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is being led by Police Sub-Inspector More.

Suryakant’s brother, Shrikant, had filed a complaint with the Chakan police station, alleging that his brother was being harassed and threatened by his girlfriend and her yoga teacher.

The incident highlights the growing concern of false rape cases being filed against men, and the need for stricter laws to prevent such incidents.
