STUDENTS GONE WRONG: Savitribai Phule University Duo Caught with Weed!

Two students of Savitribai Phule University, Pratik Gujar and Akash Bramhabhat, were caught with marijuana on campus, leading to a case being registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The incident occurred during a routine check by university authorities, who found a small quantity of marijuana in Akash’s pocket.

Professor Sanjay Kamble, the rector of the boys’ hostel, lodged a complaint against the duo, and police sub-inspector Pranil Chougule is investigating the matter. The university has initiated an inquiry and promised strict action against the students if found guilty.

This incident has raised concerns about the increasing use of narcotics among students, with student organizations demanding stricter vigilance from the university management and police department. The police have urged students to stay away from such substances and promised to take action against those involved in possession or sale.

Rahul Sasane, president of the University Students Sangharsh Kruti Samiti, stated that this is the second incident of marijuana being found on campus, blaming the inefficient and ineffective registrar for the repeated incidents. He demanded the removal of the registrar and the appointment of a capable and permanent replacement.
