Pune Stenographer Arrested for Murdering Wife with Scissors

A shocking incident has shaken the city of Pune, as a 37-year-old stenographer at the Shivajinagar court allegedly murdered his 28-year-old wife, Jyoti, with a pair of scissors at their rented house in Kharriadi’s Tulja Bhavani Nagar.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 4:30 am on Wednesday, when the couple’s six-year-old son was present in the same room. The husband, Shivdas Tukaram Gite, surrendered himself at the Kharadi police station around 7:15 am, along with their son.

Upon investigation, police found Jyoti’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood, and recovered the tailoring scissors allegedly used in the crime. Gite reportedly confessed to the crime, citing domestic issues as the motive.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav stated that initial investigations suggest the couple had been experiencing marital problems. Gite has been placed under arrest, and further investigation is underway.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the growing concern of domestic violence and its devastating consequences. The police are working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the crime and ensure justice for the victim and her family
