Pune Police Seize Pistols and Live Cartridges from Notorious Offenders
In a significant operation, the Anti-Extortion Cell (Unit 1) of the Pune Police’s Crime Branch seized two pistols and three live cartridges from two notorious offenders on February 10, 2025. The accused, identified as Aniket Vinayak Jadhav (24) and Ganesh Tanaji Kinle (23), were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.
According to the police, they received a tip-off about a person carrying a pistol in the NDA area of Khadakwasla Road, Kodraye Dhavade, Pune. A team of police officers, led by senior Police Inspector Vijay Kumbhar and Assistant Police Inspector Rajesh Malegave, laid a trap and apprehended the two accused.
Upon searching the accused, the police found one country-made pistol and one live cartridge on Aniket Jadhav, and one country-made pistol and two live cartridges on Ganesh Kinle. The total value of the seized items is approximately ₹45,600.
Both accused have been arrested and are being investigated further. The police have also initiated proceedings against them under the Maharashtra Police Act.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shri Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime )Nikhil Pingle and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh Ingale.
