Pune Police Seize ₹1.65 lakh Worth of Contraband, Arrest Two Suspects
In a major crackdown, the Pune Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell and Anti-Extortion Cell seized ₹1.65 lakh worth of contraband, including 14.60 lakh rupees worth of Mephedrone (MD) and a country-made pistol, from two suspects in the Faraskhana area.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Bobby Bhagwat Surwase (28) and Tosif Rahim Khan (32). The police also recovered a country-made pistol, a magazine, and two live rounds from the suspects.
The suspects were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Indian Arms Act, and the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Nitin Kumar Naik.
This operation was carried out under the guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balkawade and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Mulik.
