Pune Crime Branch Nabs Wanted Accused with Firearm
In a swift operation, the Unit-2 of Pune crime branch apprehended a 20-year-old accused, Soham Shashikant Waghmare, who was wanted in a case registered at the Sahakar Nagar Police Station. The accused was found possessing a firearm in the Mastan Hotel area.
Police constable Ujwal Mokashi and and Shankar Kumbhar had received a tip off about the accused, which led to successful operation. The police team, comprising senior Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, Assistant Police inspector Ashish Kavthekar, and others, conducted a search operation based on a tip-off from a confidential source. The accused was taken into custody, and his medical examination was conducted before being handed over to the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station.
The action was taken under the guidance of senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh Ingle.
The Pune Police have been cracking down on illegal activities, including the sale of synthetic nylon manja, which is banned under the Environment Protection Act, 1986.
