Police Raid on Illicit Country Liquor Den in Ramdara Area

Pune: In the Ramdara area of Loni Kalabhor, a Crime Branch police team raided an illegal country liquor den where illicit liquor was being produced. During the operation, the police seized 1,500 liters of ready-made liquor worth Rs. 1,50,000, chemicals for 20,000 liters valued at Rs. 10 lakh, and equipment used for liquor production—including a motor, drum, air blower, lacquer, and other items—amounting to a total of Rs. 11,60,000.

According to the police, on February 18, while conducting a combing operation in the Ramdara road area near a water channel, Police Inspector Wahid Pathan, along with Assistant Police Inspector Madan Kambale and his team, received information that Mukesh Karnawat was illegally operating an illicit liquor distillery. Acting on this tip, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Panhale and Sub-Inspector Anil Jadhav of the Loni Kalabhor Police Station, along with their team, tracked down the illegal country liquor den. The police discovered that Karnawat was running the illicit distillery; however, when confronted, he took advantage of the darkness and fled into the forest. A case has been registered against Karnawat at the Loni Kalabhor Police Station under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Crime Branch Unit Inspector Wahid Pathan and Loni Kalabhor Police Station Senior Inspector Rajendra Panhale, with Assistant Inspector Madan Kambale, Sub-Inspector Anil Jadhav, Balasaheb Sakate, Kanifnath Karkhele, and Suhas Tambe participating.
