POLICE PROTECTION WITHDRAWN FOR 30 POLITICIANS IN PUNE

In a recent development, the Pune Police have withdrawn police protection for 30 politicians, including former ministers and MLAs, in the city. This move comes after the Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024.

Deputy commissioner of Police (special Branch) Milind Mohite has passed the order which was implemented on Monday.

According to reports, the police protection was withdrawn on Monday (November 25) for several prominent politicians, including former minister Harshvardhan Patil, Ramesh Bagwe, former MLA Ravindra Dhangekar, Sunil Tungare, Chandrakant Mokate, MLA Bapusaheb Pathare, Hemant Rasne, Gyaneshwar Katke, and several others.

The police protection was provided to these individuals during the Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024. However, with the election process now complete, the police have withdrawn the protection.

It’s worth noting that police protection is typically provided to politicians and other high-profile individuals based on threat assessments and security concerns. The withdrawal of police protection for these 30 individuals suggests that the security threat has been mitigated.
