Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has instructed the police department and the municipal corporation to take strict action against encroachers, ordering a “surgical strike” against those responsible. This move aims to address the long-standing issue of encroachment in various parts of the city.

During a joint inspection with MLA Jnaneshwar Katke, Commissioner Kumar identified several areas of concern, including the Wagholi area, where encroachment has led to traffic congestion. He interacted with local residents, listened to their grievances, and instructed concerned departments to take necessary actions.

Commissioner Kumar specifically pointed out encroachments on Kharaadi Road, including scrap metal, furniture, and egg carts, and ordered their immediate removal. “Take action against these encroachments without waiting for January 10,” he directed.
