Plunge — The Kitchen & Bar in Koregaon Park has been sealed by Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar until January 5, 2025, for violating the 1:30 am deadline. This is not the first time the bar has faced penalties for violating the deadline. The state excise department had previously initiated action against the bar twice, suspending its license and conducting raids .

The latest incident occurred after an advertisement for a party till 3 am went viral on social media. The police took cognizance of the advertisement and questioned the owner of Plunge about the timing. Upon investigating, the police found that some CCTV footage from the bar had been deleted.

The bar’s owner had previously been involved in a betting racket in May last year and had been penalized for violating the deadline last year and this year ². Despite the penalties, the bar continued to violate the deadline, leading to the police commissioner’s decision to seal the bar.

The sealing of Plunge Bar is a strict measure to ensure that establishments adhere to the rules and regulations set by the authorities. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has warned hotels, pubs, and clubs in the city to close by 1:30 am, and strict action will be taken against those who violate the deadline .
