Man Who Attacked Traffic Police Taught a Lesson: Made to Crawl and Paraded in Public

A traffic police officer, who stopped a two-wheeler rider for speaking on his mobile phone while driving, was attacked by the rider with a stone. However, the police caught the culprit and ensured he learned a harsh lesson. The accused was made to crawl on his knees and paraded publicly in the bustling Fursungi area to set an example.

What Happened?
Bablu Masal (25), originally from Dharashiv, was riding a two-wheeler while speaking on the phone when Traffic Police Havaldar Rajesh Naik stopped him. Upon being reprimanded, Masal assaulted Naik, pushing him and hitting his head with a stone from the roadside. The injured officer was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Masal fled the scene and returned to his hometown of Dharashiv.

Apprehension and Punishment
Police traced Masal to Dharashiv and brought him back to Pune, where he was made to crawl on his knees and paraded in the busy streets of Fursungi. The act aimed to demonstrate the consequences of attacking law enforcement officers.

A Warning to Criminals
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar recently emphasized the importance of strict action against criminals. During a public event, they urged the police to parade offenders publicly to instill fear of the law. “Let the entire city know the cost of breaking the law,” Pawar said, reinforcing that no one is above the law.
