Pune: Four members of a family, including a 17-year-old girl, were seriously injured in a road accident on the Pune-Satara highway on Saturday morning. The accident occurred when a container truck collided with the car in which the family was traveling.

The injured have been identified as Sarjerao Sakharam Patil (60), his wife Sarjerao Patil (50), their son Pravin Sakharam Patil (35), and their granddaughter Ira Pravin Patil (17), all residents of Darewadi, Panhala, Kolhapur.

According to the police, the family was traveling from Mumbai to Kolhapur in their car when the accident occurred near the Cheladi flyover on the Pune-Satara highway. The container truck, which was traveling from behind, collided with the car, causing serious injuries to the occupants.

The police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured family members. They were taken to a private hospital in Nasrapur for treatment. Sarjerao Patil and his wife are seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The accident caused a massive traffic jam on the highway, with vehicles queuing up for over 3-4 kilometers. The police had to call in a crane to remove the damaged vehicles and clear the traffic. After the vehicles were removed, the traffic flow returned to normal.
