Fire Breaks Out at Clothing Store in Kondhwa, Pune
A fire broke out at a clothing store in Kondhwa, Pune, on December 17, around 2:30 pm. The fire department received a call, and two fire engines were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fire had spread to two clothing stores on the ground floor of a three-story building. To prevent the fire from spreading to the upper floors, the firefighters took swift action.
The firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus sets, rescued five women and a three-year-old child from the upper floors. The rescue operation was successful, and the fire was extinguished within twenty minutes.
The fire caused significant damage to the stores, with losses estimated to be substantial. Unfortunately, one woman suffered minor burns to her foot, and some firefighters also sustained minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation.
Locals praised the firefighters for their bravery and quick response, especially considering it was a child’s birthday, and their timely rescue ensured a happy ending.
The firefighters involved in the rescue effort were Ravindra Hivarkar, Satyam Chaukhande, Rafik Sheikh, Kishor Mohite, Yogesh Pisal, Sagar Dalvi, Nilesh Vanakhede, KunAL Khode, Govind Geete, Harshal Yevale, and Harshvardhan Khade.
