Female Teacher at Pune School Accused of Sexually Assaulting Minor Student
A disturbing incident has come to light at a prominent school in Pune, where a 27-year-old female teacher has been accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old student in a classroom.
The incident occurred on December 27 when another teacher stumbled upon the accused teacher and the student in a compromising position in a closed room on the school’s second floor. The teacher immediately reported the incident to the school’s principal, who verified the incident through CCTV footage.
The principal then confronted the accused teacher, who confessed to the relationship, citing mutual attraction as the reason. According to the police complaint, the accused teacher had allegedly visited the student’s home, where they engaged in physical intimacy.
The student also confessed to the relationship, stating that the teacher had visited him at home. The school authorities have filed a complaint with the Khadak Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
The accused teacher has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) sections 7, 9 (f), 11 (6), 12, and 14.
The incident has raised concerns about student safety and the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents in educational institutions. Despite conducting workshops on ‘Good Touch Bad Touch’ to create awareness among students about sexual abuse, the school fell short in preventing this incident.
The police are investigating the matter, and further action will be taken based on the findings. The incident has sent shockwaves through the education community, highlighting the need for greater vigilance and accountability in schools.
