Court grants Anticipatory bail to husband, in-laws in abetment to suicide case

Pune: The court has granted anticipatory bail to the husband, mother-in-law, and father-in-law of a 25-year-old woman who allegedly committed suicide due to harassment.

According to the FIR filed by the woman’s maternal uncle, Shyam Ramrao Thombre, the accused – Santosh Bharsakar (husband), Ashok Bharsakar (father-in-law), and Mangal Bharsakar (mother-in-law) – had been demanding money from the victim and her family. The FIR also alleged that the husband was physically abusive and would often beat the victim after consuming alcohol.

However, during the court hearing, Advocate Kiran Gulave, representing the accused, argued that the allegations were false and that the victim’s family had been quarreling with her for a long time. Gulave also pointed out that the victim was educated and had never filed a complaint against her husband or in-laws.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Justice Rathod granted anticipatory bail to the accused.
