Chef Robbed at Gunpoint, Accused Arrested in Kondhwa
Pune: Two thieves who robbed a chef at gunpoint in Kondhwa have been arrested. The incident, which took place in the early hours, has sent shockwaves across the area.
A young man filed a complaint at the Kondhwa Police Station, leading to the arrest of Tabrez alias Parvez Munir Shaikh (22, resident of J.K. Park, Kondhwa) and Ramzan Abbas Patel (24, resident of Shivnerinagar, Kondhwa).
According to the police, the complainant resides in Kondhwa and works as a chef at a local eatery. On Saturday, February 15, around 4 a.m., while on his way to work, the young man was intercepted by the accused near Maurya Housing Society on NIBM Road. Tabrez and his accomplice Ramzan arrived on a two-wheeler and attempted to intimidate the chef at gunpoint. However, the chef resisted, managing to snatch the weapon during the scuffle. During the altercation, his shirt was torn, and the thieves tried to steal his mobile phone.
After the incident, the chef returned home and informed the senior chef at the eatery about the attack. Subsequently, the police were alerted. Assistant Commissioner of Police Dnyaneshwar Godse and Senior Inspector Vinay Patankar visited the crime scene and initiated an investigation.
Based on CCTV footage, the police identified the culprits and arrested Tabrez and Ramzan. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused used a pellet gun to threaten the victim. Further inquiries into the case are being conducted by Assistant Inspector Mayur Vairagkar.
