Anti Narcotics Cell seizes 1 kg Opium , Nabs Rajasthan resident
Pune’s Anti-Narcotics Cell has made a significant breakthrough in combating drug trafficking by seizing 1 kilogram and 90 grams of opium worth Rs. 21.80 lakh. The operation led to the arrest of 52-year-old Nathuram Jeevanram Jat, a resident of Rajasthan, who was caught with the opium hidden in his red travel bag near Unnati Dham Society in Pune.
Jat admitted to bringing the drugs to Pune with the intention of selling them for quick financial gain. An FIR was registered at Kondhwa Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
This operation is part of Pune Police’s comprehensive efforts to combat drug trafficking, headed by Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma. The successful operation was supported by a team of police officers, including Senior Police Inspector Ulhas Kadam, Assistant Police Inspector Aniket Pote, and several police constables.
