A gesture of Gratitude: Pune Police Commissioner Rewards constables with Rs.500 each
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar surprised his constabulary with a ₹500 reward for their tireless efforts during the recent Vidhansabha 2024 elections. This gesture recognizes the constables’ hard work in ensuring a peaceful and efficient voting process.
The elections in Pune concluded smoothly, thanks to timely action against individuals who could influence the elections, preventive measures by the Crime Branch, and meticulous planning of polling stations. Kumar emphasized that good efforts always need to be recognized, and this reward is a testament to his commitment to boosting morale.
To maintain law and order, the police initiated action against notorious criminals, issued prohibitory orders to over 1,500 history sheeters, and formed 40 teams for preventive actions. The police also increased security at sensitive booths, summoned around 5,000 people who could be a nuisance, and seized illegal weapons and liquor.
Many political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, visited Pune during the election campaign, and the police ensured their security. Kumar rewarded his force with cash and certificates of appreciation, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
