In a shocking incident, High Spirits Cafe, a restaurant cum pub located in Mundhwa, Pune, has distributed objectionable invitations to its regular customers, mostly youngsters, on the occasion of New Year. The invitations were accompanied by condoms and Electra ORS, sparking widespread outrage and condemnation.

The Maharashtra Pradesh Yuvak Congress has filed a complaint with Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, seeking strict action against the cafe management. The complaint alleges that the pub’s actions are unacceptable and go against Pune’s educational and cultural traditions.

According to the complaint, the distribution of condoms with party invitations conveys wrong messages to youngsters and creates misconceptions and bad habits in society. Pune, known as the educational and cultural hub of the country, has been damaged by such ‘cheap publicity’ stunts.

The Youth Congress has requested the police to investigate the matter, take strict action against the cafe management, and establish a strict set of rules to prevent such incidents in the future.

“We strongly oppose High Spirits Cafe’s actions on behalf of Pune’s youth,” said a Youth Congress leader. “We appreciate the tireless efforts of the police in maintaining peace and harmony in the city and look forward to their positive response.”

The incident has raised concerns about the city’s moral fabric and the need for stricter regulations to prevent such incidents. The police are yet to take action, but the complaint is likely to lead to a crackdown on the pub.
