A shocking incident occurred in Pune’s Bandgarden area, where a motorist ran over a female police constable, Deepmala Raju Nair, during a midnight checkpoint. The constable suffered severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The incident happened when Nair signaled a vehicle coming from Jehangir Hospital to stop at a barricade. However, the motorist crashed into the barricade and dragged Nair for 50-60 meters. The driver fled the scene after the accident.

Police constable Vijaykumar Jagtap filed a complaint at the Bandgarden police station, leading to a case being registered against the unidentified motorist. The police are investigating the incident and searching for the absconding driver.
