Election Campaigning Concludes: Massive Security Arrangements in Place for Polling Day

The 20-day election campaigning in Pune concluded on Monday evening, shifting the focus to polling day preparations. To ensure peaceful and orderly voting, the Pune Police have made extensive security arrangements.

A massive security force has been deployed, comprising Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Quick Response Team (QRT), and Home Guard personnel. The Pune City Police’s jurisdiction covers seven assembly constituencies, including Kasba Peth, Vadgaon Sheri, Shivaji Nagar, Kothrud, Parvati, Pune Cantonment, and Hadapsar.

To monitor the voting process, 4 Additional Police Commissioners, 11 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 22 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 64 Police Inspectors, 311 Assistant Police Inspectors, and 5,255 police personnel have been deployed. Additional security arrangements include 1,879 Home Guard personnel, 15 CAPFs companies, and 2 SRPF companies.

Special teams have been deployed to ensure the smooth transportation of EVMs and polling materials. A combing operation and nakabandi have also been planned across the city tonight. In Pune district, elaborate security arrangements have been made at all polling stations, with a deployment of 1 Superintendent of Police, 2 Additional Superintendents of Police, 9 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 35 Police Inspectors, 287 Assistant Police Inspectors, and 3,246 police personnel.
