Pune, October 21, 2024 – In a significant breakthrough, the Shivajinagar Police Station has arrested Pramod Sitaram Chalmare (47), a notorious scammer accused of swapping ATM cards and stealing ₹21,000 from a victim’s account.

According to the police, Chalmare targeted ATM centers, swapping victims’ cards with duplicates and withdrawing cash using the stolen cards. The police recovered multiple ATM cards, ₹15,050 in cash, and other incriminating materials.

Chalmare’s modus operandi involved:

– Swapping ATM cards at various centers
– Withdrawing cash using stolen cards
– Targeting victims across Pune

The investigation, led by Police Sub-Inspector Ajit Bade, revealed Chalmare’s involvement in similar crimes at Miyajanagar, Vishrambag, and Sinhagad Road police stations.

Senior Police Inspector Chandrashekhar Sawant ,
PSI Ajit Bade and police constable Sachin Jadhav and Dipak Chavan initiated the action. The police are investigating further to uncover more instances of the scam.
