A 21-year-old student from DY Patil College in Pimpri-Chinchwad jumped to his death from the Sant Tukaram Nagar metro station on Monday, February 24, 2025.

The incident occurred at around 6 pm when the student, identified as Sujal Sunil Mankar, a third-year Bachelor of Computer Sciences student, jumped onto the BRT tarmac and was subsequently run over by a vehicle .

According to police Sujal had written a suicide note citing his frustration with his family’s financial situation as the reason for his actions. The college community is in shock, and the incident has raised concerns about the mental health support available to students.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the college administration has launched an inquiry into the matter.
