Mumbai/Bhiwandi:
In a shocking case of murder, a 22-year-old Ola driver, Akram Iqbaluddin Qureshi, was brutally killed in Bhiwandi on January 17 over a long-standing land dispute in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The Bhiwandi rural police have arrested five accused, including the victim’s girlfriend, Jassi Tiwari, who allegedly lured him into a trap.
According to the police, the accused, Mohammad Kaif, Isamuddin Qureshi, Salman Khan, and Suhail Qureshi, had a grudge against Akram due to a 2022 land dispute. As part of their plan, Kaif used his girlfriend to lure Akram into a relationship. She invited him to Bhiwandi, accompanied him in his car, and led him to the ambush site, where the four men attacked him with iron rods and stones, killing him on the spot.
The police traced the suspects through CCTV footage and technical analysis, despite limited leads. The victim’s family has demanded strict punishment for the culprits.
