SWARGATE SERIAL MOBILE THIEF NABBED: Pune Police Recover Stolen Phones Worth ₹7.45 Lakh
Pune Police have arrested a serial mobile thief, Satish Jnaneshwar Shirodkar (32), who targeted commuters at Swargate Bus Stand and Pune Railway Station. The police recovered three mobile phones from him and later seized 43 more mobiles and a laptop worth ₹7.45 lakh from a mobile shop owner, Mohammed Shahid Ilyas Ansari, who allegedly bought the stolen phones from Shirodkar.
The arrest was made possible by a special patrol team led by Police Havaldar Ashruba Morale, Police Constable Sujoy Pawar, Dipak Khandade, Firoz Sheikh, and Hanumant Dudhe. Shirodkar, a repeat offender with six previous cases of theft against him, confessed to stealing mobiles from commuters and selling them to Ansari.
The police team, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre, also included Assistant Police Inspector Rahul Kolambikar, Police Sub-Inspector Ravindra Kaspute, Police constable Sachin Tanpure, Police Sujoy Pawar, Dipak Khandade, Harshal Shinde, Firoz Sheikh, Hanumant Dudhe, Ramesh Chavan, Prashant Tonpe, and Sandeep Ghule.
