PMPML Bus Mows Down Cattle, Sparking Protests
A PMPML bus ran over a herd of cattle on the Khed Shivapur-Kondhanpur road in Rajgad, Pune, on Friday morning, killing four cows and injuring 10 others. The incident sparked protests from local farmers, who blocked the road and demanded compensation.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was speeding when it hit the cattle, which were crossing the road. The driver, who has been arrested, allegedly showed no regard for the animals’ safety.
The farmers, who were enraged by the incident, claimed that the bus driver was reckless and irresponsible. They demanded that the PMPML take responsibility for the incident and provide compensation for the loss of their cattle.
Senior Inspector Rajesh Gavali of the Rajgad police station intervened and calmed the situation, promising the farmers that their concerns would be addressed.
The PMPML has not issued an official statement on the incident. The police have registered a case against the bus driver and seized the vehicle
