Pune Police Arrest Accused in Extortion Case

The Pune Police’s Crime Branch has arrested an accused involved in an extortion case. The accused, Mansas alias Shubhanshu Upendra Sharma (24), a resident of Upper Indira Nagar, Bibwewadi, Pune, was arrested by the Anti-Extortion Squad.

According to the police, the accused was wanted in a case of extortion and was on the radar of the police. The police team, led by Senior Inspector Vijay Kumbhar, was tracking the accused’s movements.

The police received a tip-off that the accused was hiding near Gate No. 5, Market Yard, and immediately swung into action. The accused tried to flee, but was apprehended by the police.

During interrogation, the accused revealed his name and address. He also confessed to committing the crime. The accused has been handed over to the Paragao Police Station for further investigation.

The arrest was made possible under the guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Mulik.
